Fees and where they go
Every amount on this page is a proposal for the village council and has not yet been adopted. They are published here so nobody has to ask what a licence costs.
Annual licence fee
Charged once a year. The inspection is included.

A rental bike pays more than a private one because it earns money and carries the greater share of the risk. Village and clinic bikes are registered and inspected like any other, but pay nothing.
Added to every new licence
- Plate and sticker set
- Rp 75.000
- Community safety levy, per year
- Rp 25.000
- Battery deposit, refundable
- Rp 250.000
The battery deposit comes back when the old battery is handed in at the collection point. It exists so dead lithium packs do not end up buried on the island or dropped in the sea.

Paying late
There is a grace period of 30 days after expiry. After that a surcharge of 50% of the renewal fee applies. At 90 days the licence lapses altogether and the bike has to be registered again from the start.
The amnesty
Bikes already on the island when the scheme begins register at 50% off the first year and face no penalty for having been unregistered. The point of that window is an honest count of how many bikes are here, not revenue.
Payment is by QRIS or in cash at the village office. Both produce a numbered receipt from the same sequence, so the two can be reconciled.
